Popular Puerto Rican prospect Ivan Rodriguez returns to the ring in a rematch against Vineash Rungea on Friday, July 13th at Chicago's Congress Theatre as part of SUMMER SIZZLE, an evening of world class professional boxing, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING.
Said Pesoli, “This is a rematch of a terrific bout last year which SOLO BOXEO televised that saw both Rodriguez and Rungea perform very well. We’re happy to have the rematch on our July 13th card at the Congress Theatre.”

The Rodriguez/Rungea super bantamweight bout is a rematch of their hard fought draw, broadcast on SOLO BOXEO, which took place on September 15, 2006 in front of a huge crowd at the Aragon Ballroom.
Rodriguez, 7-3-1 (3KO’s) is coming off a win over Benjamin Orozco on December 1st at Cicero Stadium. His aggressive, all action style has proved to be a favorite amongst Chicago boxing fans.
In Rungea’s last appearance in Chicago, the stylish native of England won a six round decision over Ricky Benavides on January 26, 2007 at Cicero Stadium.
