There appears to be an internal conflict over a proposed fight that involves Tomasz Adamek and Roy Jones Jr. BoxingScene.com ran a story on Tuesday that quoted Adamek's co-promoter, Ziggy Rozalski, as stating that a deal was being discussed for Adamek to fight Jones in March of next year. Kathy Duva of Main Events, who is Adamek's other co-promoter, denied the existence of the negotiations and said Jones was "not being considered."

BoxingScene has confirmed with both Rozalski, and John Wirt, CEO of Jones' promotional company Square Ring, that negotiations have indeed taken place for a clash between Adamak and Jones. Not only have negotiations taken place, but both fighters have basically agreed on the money.

From what Rozalski told our Polish sister site, Bokser.org, Adamek wants the fight with Jones - and Rozalski wants to give Adamek what he wants. But, Duva is against the Jones fight. She wants Adamek to fight one of the Klitschko brothers. Rozalski agrees with Duva's direction of Adamek facing a Klitschko.

But, if a deal can't be made with either Klitschko brother, or David Haye, then Rozalski wants to deliver the Jones fight to Adamek. Both promoters have to reach a mutual agreement on the opponent, but Rozalski points out that it's Adamek who ultimately
calls the shots.

Adamek returns on December 9 against Vinny Maddalone at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
