Undefeated Imre Szello (16-0, 9 KOs) is planning to defend his WBO Inter-Continental cruiserweight title for the first time against reigning Hungarian champion Tamas Toth (9-4-4, 5 KOs) in a grudge match serving as the main event of an already sold-out boxing card on Saturday night in Szekesfehervar, Hungary.
WBO #10 rated Szello is favored to get the win and continue his route to an eventual world title opportunity at 200 pounds.
In another interesting matchup hard-hitting Jozsef Darmos (4-1-1, 4 KOs) is meeting battle-tested veteran Gyula Bozai (15-9-4, 11 KOs) in a ten round fight for the interim Hungarian title, also at cruiserweight. Action is written all over it in this one as both participants are known for their action-packed styles and willingness to engage.
In the third title bout of the evening Hungarian welterweight champ Balazs Torteli (11-1, 4 KOs) is making the first defense of his title he won back in November in the same venue at Lakeside Hotel Conference Hall in his hometown of Szekesfehervar. His opponent will be unheralded fringe contender Antal Racz (5-2, 4 KOs).
Young up-and-comers Renato Egedi, Ferenc Berki Jr and Zoltan Kispal are also be in action in separated bouts.
On Friday’s weigh-in ceremony all of the combatants made weight properly and look forward to a great night of action.
The card is being televised by Hungarian National Sports Broadcaster, M4. The event is promoted by leading Hungarian manager/promoter Felix Racz’s Felix Promotion.
