EBU light heavyweight champion Igor Mikhalkin (18-1) retained the title this past weekend with a unanimous decision over Patrik Bois (14-5-1) in Paris and Igor is now 4-0 against French fighters in France.

Bois was a sub for Mehdi Amar (32-4-2) and next up for Mikhalkin is a defence against Amar on April 30 – of course in France on a show promoted by MK Event. After that the plan is to go for a world title.

Mikhalkin began his pro career with Spotlight Boxing in Hamburg but is now with EC Boxing in the same town. He is not a flashy boxer in any way but a steady performer who works behind his southpaw jab. The sole loss on his record came in 2010 against then stablemate Alekzyi Kuziemski and he´s gone 7-0 since then.
