Promoter Frank Warren says it’s a “no brainer” that his super middleweight Hamzah Sheeraz should fight Canelo Alvarez next, should the Mexican come through Terence Crawford on Saturday.
The eyes of the boxing world will be fixed on the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas where Canelo and Crawford meet and Sheeraz, coming off an emphatic stoppage victory over Edgar Berlanga in July, is in line for Alvarez.
“We will see what happens this weekend,” said Warren.
“It depends what happens this Saturday. If Canelo comes through, I believe we’ll make that fight. No brainer.”
Sheeraz drew with WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames in Saudi Arabia in February and then moved up to destroy Berlanga in five rounds in New York.
