Ian Tims will look to get his career back up and running again after signing a new managerial contract.
The Clondalkin cruiserweight, who has been out of the ring since last November, when he was the victor over eight rounds against Michael Sweeney, has inked a deal with MGM.
Tims (11-3, 3 KOs) will make his ring return before the end of the year, with full details on his comeback to be revealed in the coming days.
“I’m delighted to have signed and I’m looking forward to fighting under the MGM banner real soon,” the 36-year-old, who trains with Phil Sutcliffe, said.
“I’ve been a little inactive lately but MGM have promised to get me busy straight away.”
Tims is a former holder of the Irish cruiserweight title and has challenged unsuccessfully for both the EU belt and the vacant WBO International strap.
But despite being beaten when stepping up in class in the ring, Tims’ acquisition is one that excites the management team at the Puerto Banus-based outfit.
“We are really pleased to have signed Tims[y],” they said. “He is a real old school fighter who will share a ring with anybody.
“We intend to get him a fight or two to shake off the cobwebs but straight after that it’s big fights only.”
