WBC lightweight champion Humberto Soto has no problem with a fight against his countryman Erik Morales. Last week the WBC announced that Morales would become Soto's mandatory challenger. Morales has to beat Willie Limond on September 11. Soto makes a defense of title against Fidel Monterrosa Munoz of Colombia on September 18. If both fighters win, the bout is possible, but Morales would rather face WBA/WBO champion Juan Manuel Marquez.
"If that's what they [the WBC] tell me to do, I have no problem with fighting Erik Morales, as long as both fighters make a good purse," Soto said.
Morales has been fighting between junior welterweight and welterweight since returning earlier this year. He is not sure on how his body will react to a drop in weight to 135-pounds. Morales wants to become the first Mexican to win four titles in four weight divisions.
