Humberto Soto and Gamaliel Diaz better get their act together concerning medical records by Friday, or their clash for the vacant WBC Super Featherweight title at the Auditorio Centenario in Torreon, Mexico is off!
That was the blunt warning from WBC President Jose Sulaiman who says each fighter has already been fined a $1,000 for his tardiness in already missing the thirty-day weigh-in rule requirement. There is yet a seven-day weigh-in rule to complied with prior to the final weigh in twenty-four hours before the bout.
Don Jose said the priority is the medical safety and well being of the two of them, to insure that they are already within the no more than ten percent over the Super Feather limit, and he warned: “What we want is their respect for the WBC’s medical rules. We will not allow them to do this. They have to comply.”
And on the issue to who fights for which boxing body, Cristian Mijares and Jorge Arce have been flirting with the WBA and fights for them. Don Jose stressed: “If they want to do that, then fine. It’s professional boxing, but they are not going to use the WBC to be able to do this. I’m not going to play that game.
“it’s very disappointing, because when the fighter needs you they come to you, but once their enjoy their fame they do things which are inappropriate, totally disrespectful and without any loyalty at all.”
