Former champion Humberto "Zorrita" Soto is highly motivated for his upcoming junior welterweight debut in Los Mochis On September 3 he goes up against powerful Nicaraguan slugger Jose Alfaro (25-7, 22KOs). Soto calls this his "first step" in securing a third divisional title. Soto (56-7-2, 32KOs) is training in Tijuana with the trainer Romulo Quirarte and his son Roberto.
"It makes me happy, because on the day of the fight there will be a feast for all my countrymen because I'm going to provide a great performance. My opponent is a strong fighter and he was world champion. I will try to connect with my best shots. I'm that it's going to be a great battle," Soto said.
Soto will be training for three weeks in Tijuana and then he plans to close camp in Los Mochis.
