Los Mochis, Sin. - The super flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Hugo "Incredible" Cázarez, is ready to defend his title for a fourth time, when he faces Tijuana's Arturo "Fuerte" Badillo on Saturday July 9 at the stadium Baseball "Teodoro Mariscal" at the heavenly port of Mazatlan, Sinaloa. The fight will be broadcast by Televisa. The contest between Cázarez (36-6-2, 24 KOs) and Badillo (20-1-0, 18 KOs) will be a real "war" of power with both fighters looking for a knockout win.
"Incredible" has been one of the most complete fighters in the lower divisions in the last decade, with his boxing, power and smarts in the ring. He won the title in Japan in May of 2010 with a unanimous decision in a fight Nobuo Nashiro tiebreaker, and after making his first two defenses in Mexico (with Everardo Morales and Albert Rossel) he returned to Japan to defend his title for the third time against Hiroyuki Hisatake, who was also outpointed.
Cázarez is led by experienced and successful trainer Manuel Montiel, the chief of the "Cochules" who has managed to bring the "Incredible" to victories in U.S. rings, Puerto Rico, Panama and Japan, and Mexico. Hugo is part of a litter of bright world champions from Los Mochis, as are his own gymmates, the three-division world champion, Fernando "KOchulito" Montiel, and the first Mexican to be world champion at four weights, Jorge "Travieso" Arce, who even helped him in his sparring sessions for the match against Badillo. Humberto Soto and Jesus "Cuatito" Ruiz are the other fighters of Los Mochis who are currently world champions.
In his fourth defense on July 9, he faces a solid prospect in Badillo, who won 18 of his 20 fights by knockout and in his only loss he fell to Colombian Ronald Barrera when contesting for the Fecarbox flyweight title.
