On March 24, at the Centro de Convenciones Atlapa in Panama City, Panama, Hugo Cazares (27-5, 20KOs) will take on Roberto Vasquez for the WBA Fedelatin super flyweight title. A crossroads bout for both fighters as they look to springboard into a major title shot.

Vasquez is training very hard for the fight and wants to perform at his best for the hometown fans. He lost a tough twelve round decision when he challenged Takefumi Sakata for the WBA flyweight title in July 2007.

Cazares is still trying to pick himself up from the technical decision loss to Ivan Calderon from last August. He returned in January and knocked out journeyman Jorge Romero in three rounds. He wants to do the same to Vasquez.
