The manager of WBA interim-super flyweight champion Drian Francisco, Elmer Anuran, says the WBA informed him that full champion Hugo Cazares is planning to vacate his title. Anuran was told Cazares is going to make a move to the lucrative bantamweight division. If Cazares goes through with this plan, then Francisco would become the full champion at 115-pounds. Francisco is the mandatory challenger to Cazares' title.

“It looks like Cazares is evading Drian. Our friends from the WBA have told us that Cazares will relinquish his title and move up to the bantamweight division," Anuran said to GMA News. “There’s nothing on paper yet, but they’ve told us that Drian can be named as the WBA’s world super flyweight champion as early as next week."

“It’s an unfortunate turn of events because Drian was looking forward to facing Cazares, but the silver lining is that Drian will be promoted from an interim champion to a regular world champion."
