Hugo Cazares (26-4, 19KOs) is getting closer to the fight weight of 108-pounds for his Saturday rematch with WBO light flyweight champion Ivan Calderon (31-0, 6KOs), the main event bout at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
The boxing commission in Puerto Rico, concerned over last Friday's weigh-in, where Cazarez weighed in at 118.6-pounds, weighed him again on Monday. This time Cazares came in at 112.5-pounds. They plan to weigh him again on Wednesday and then Thursday, with the official weigh-in coming on Friday.
"Everything is good. We are ready for the fight and are in a good rhythm," Cazares told El Nuevo Dia. "In any event, I plan to work a little bit more but at night. Maybe I'll jog and with that I'm going drop down in weight some more."
