It looks like “Tottenham Hotspur” fans will soon have something else to cheer for aside their beloved soccer club. Tonight Vladimir Hryunov, well-known Russian manager of heavyweight hope Alexander Povetkin and bantamweight prospect Alexander Bakhtin, has told BoxingScene that he hopes for a possible showdown between WBO cruiserweight champion Marko Huck and WBO #1 ranked mandatory challenger Denis Lebedev to land at White Hart Lane arena in London, England.

“We are really aiming at this one. Lebedev is in wonderful shape and he is ready to take Marko’s belt”, said Hryunov. “This fight is of special importance for us so we want to stage it in a specific place. Denis is a lifetime fan of “Hotspurs” and it’ll be an honor for him if the fight takes its place at White Hart Lane”.

This coming Saturday “Hotspurs” host against “Manchester City” in FA Premier League’s 2010/2011 season opener. “Denis will visit this match. He is eager to root for his favorites. I hope it’ll be a great performance on “Tottenham” behalf and the team won’t disappoint her supporters”.

But this is not the only reason why Lebedev will come at White Hart Lane says Hryunov.

“Denis wants to praise Tottenham’s manager Harry Redknapp for saving Anapka, the infamous “Flying Donkey” from Golubitskaya stanitsa. Harry showed fascinating cordiality and true love to the poor animal. Denis is positively touched and impressed with Mr. Redknapp’s actions so that he wants to thank him personally”.

Anapka, a she-donkey, became famous after a ridiculous accident this July when Golubitskaya inhabitants decided to sent her flying in the air and then to pancake the animal. According to numerous witnesses, Anapka was howling all “flight” long. Legal proceedings were initiated by Russian authorities claiming cruelty to animals, while Redknapp publicly asked to patronize Anapka and to help relocating her from Russia to England. “I am sickened by the actions of the scumbag who treated Anapka so badly. If I had my way, I'd throw the idiot in prison. He should be prosecuted for what he's done”, was quoted badly angered Redknapp by British media.

And there’s even more to it. “We all know how painful was England’s recent loss to Team Germany in 2010 World Cup in RSA. That was a total disaster and British fans are still suffering from that defeat. Denis performance against German star Marko Huck will be a partial answer, sort of payback for that English disaster”, added Hryunov.

Denis Lebedev (21-0, 16 KOs), 2009 Russian Fighter of the year, is coming off one of his biggest career wins to date when he knocked out fellow Russian Alexander Alekseev in two in the WBO final eliminator this July. WBO champion Marko Huck (29-1, 22 KOs) will make the fourth defense of his title on Aug. 21 in Erfurt, Germany, against American Matt Godfrey (20-1, 10 KOs). Lebedev will reportedly be in presence for this fight.
