Fresh off his recent TKO win, in three, over previously undefeated Dominican kayo artist Andy Perez (19-1, 18 KOs), Fedor Chudinov is ready for bigger challenges. Rated #2 by the WBA in the super middleweight division the 26-year old Russian with a perfect, 11-0, with 9 KOs, record is a mandatory challenger for the WBA interim 168lb champion Stas Kashtanov (31-1, 17 KOs) of Ukraine.
“Time for response from Team Kashtanov expires soon”, commented Chudinov’s promoter Vladimir Hryunov. “We’ve sent all the necessary documents to them but up to now we’ve got no response. We have also to consider the present political situation [between our countries]. That’s why we consider Shane Mosley as an alternate. Reaction from his handlers was very business-like and pleasant, so that chances for this fight happening are pretty high. We have experience in staging fights of such magnitude, we have the entire infrastructure so that I foresee little problem in making this fight real. We aim at the second half of October for Fedor’s next bout”.
42-year old Sugar Shane Mosley (47-9-1, 39 KOs) is a former four-time and three-division world champion. He last fought in November 2013, being stopped for the first time in his career (by way of injury) by fellow veteran Anthony Mundine. Mosley is just 1-4-1 since his last banner win – a frenetic TKO over Antonio Margarito in January 2009.
