It was reported in the Mercury News by boxing scribe Bernard Fernandez, that former undisputed middleweight champion Bernard Hopkins is looking for one more fight, against IBO light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver.
Hopkins has been very vocal about not fighting past the age of 41, pursuant to a promise he made to his deceased mother. Time is running out for the former champion, he turns 41 on January 15. The possible scenario that Hopkins spoke of, is looking to possibly squeeze in one more fight against Tarver and retire by the end of February.
Hopkins, like many others in the boxing business, do not think a possible clash between former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and Antonio Tarver will ever happen.
"I don't think Tyson's going to fight no more. But me and Tarver, that's a good matchup for both of us. I think I'd beat Tarver technically. He's bigger than me, but I've got more skill." said Hopkins
