Golden Boy Promotions partner Bernard Hopkins, and IBF middleweight champion David Lemieux, are anticipating an eight round stoppage of IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin on October 17th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

During a recent media function, Lemieux was asked for his prediction on the outcome, and while he was answering a question in French – Hopkins walked up from behind, grabbed the mic and said:

”I’m going to beat Triple G, knock him out in the eight round.  Get your tickets.  It’s going to be great.  Tell your grandmother and your grandfather.  I am going to do what Bernard said because I want to make history and I want my name to be known."

Lemieux responded:  “Just like Bernard said.”

A knockout ending is certainly expected. Golovkin's trainer, Abel Sanchez, is predicting a much quicker outcome. He predicts Golovkin will knock Lemieux out in only four rounds.

Lemieux is a sizable underdog in the contest, but the Canadian puncher and his team and not paying attention the odds and expect a big upset when the two boxers trade punches on HBO Pay-Per-View.
