According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, heavyweight Frans Botha will be required to submit an additional urine sample when he arrives in Las Vegas later this month. The Nevada State Athletic Commission said that Botha's history of testing positive for steroids and the fact that the earlier urinalysis he provided did not cover all of Nevada protocols were the reasons they are asking for the additional test. Botha tested positive for steroids when he fought Axel Schulz in 1995.
In other news Tony Weeks was selected as referee for the April 3 rematch between Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins. Dave Moretti and Glenn Rowbridge of Las Vegas and Don Trella of Connecticut were chosen to judge the fight.
