According to promoter Cedric Kushner, there is a good possibility that David Tua could face former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield next year. The two boxers were once stablemates when they were promoted by Main Events. Kushner announced that Tua, 37-years-old, will fight in New Zealand in March and then face either Monte Barrett, Evander Holyfield or Hasim Rahman. Kushner told the New Zealand Herald that he wants Tua to have a couple of more fights to stay busy before they target a title shot.
