It was reported by the Times Herald-Record , that four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield could possibly face Lou Savarese on June 30 in Calgary, Canada. Savarese won his last three bouts by knockout, the most recent was a one-round demolition of Matt Hicks on April 5 in Houston, Texas.

According to the report, the only thing holding up the bout being finalized is Holyfield signing the contract. Kathy Duva of Main Events and Savarese manager Bob Spagnola recently spoke, both wanting the fight to happen.

There is a good possibility that Holyfield will not sign the contract to fight Savarese, not because he's scared, but because Savarese is a friend. The two sparred often in the 1990s and became good friends while hanging out in boxing circles around Houston.
