As reported last week, it appears that former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield's (39-8-2, 26KOs) bout against Fres Oquendo (26-3, 16KOs) is coming to the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on November 10. Holyfield will co-promote the fight with Murad Muhammad of M&M Sports.
"He's always wanted to fight there," Holyfield Ronnie Shields said to the San Antonio Express News.
Initially, George Hutson, manager of Holyfield's promotional company, announced that he would fight Sinan Samil Sam in Germany. Numerous issues made the bout fall apart. Sam wanted a lot more money than Holyfield's side was willing to give, Holyfield did not want to fight in Germany and Sam did not want to fight in Australia.
