Former IBF and IBO welterweight champion Isaac Hlatshwayo is attempting to break away from his promoter, Branco Milenkovic. Hlatshwayo is upset with his ongoing inactivity since losing his title to Jan Zaveck last December. Branco says the promotional contract is still valid and binding and he's not going to release the fighter, unless someone comes along to buy the contract out.

“Isaac Hlatshwayo has a valid and binding contract with us. The validity of our contract was confirmed by the BSA Board as well. This is our position regarding Hlatshwayo’s contract. However, if there is a promoter, who believes Hlatshwayo will add value to his promotion, we will be willing to look into possibilities and negotiate the deal for mutual benefit,” Milenkovic said to Dispatch Online.

Branco has proposed and eight round bout against Phillip Ndou. Hlatshwayo is open to doing the fight but he still wants to get out of his contract.

“I’ve asked Branco to release me from my contract, but he has refused. Instead, he proposed that I fight against Phillip. I don’t have a problem with that, but the deal has not been concluded,” said Hlatshway.
