Featherweight prospect Jose Hernandez returned to the ring on Saturday night at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom as he won a unanimous eight round decision over Anthony Martinez of Turriabla, Costa Rica. Scores for Hernandez were 80-72 and 78-74 (twice). With the win Hernandez’s record improves to 20-3 (13), while Martinez falls to 20-21-3 (9).
In the other bout on the professional portion of the pro-am card, Chicagoan Anthony Ivory won a six round unanimous decision over Kendall Gould of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Both bouts were part of the ROCK AND BOX charity event for cystic fibrosis.
Undefeated lightweight prospect Mike Gonzalez, 6-0 (6), who was scheduled to fight on this card is now slated in the co-main event of DESTINY, the next world class professional boxing card at Cicero Stadium on Friday, June 16th, presented by 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING.
