Mandatory challenger Alejandro Hernandez (28-10-2, 15KOs) is somewhat annoyed by WBO bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda (30-0, 19KOs).
Unlike his brothers, Tomoki started his career in Mexico and most of his fights took place in the country. He adapted the nickname of 'El Mexicanito' and speaks fluently in Spanish. Kameda even sports the Mexican flag hand in hand with the colors of his native Japan.
Hernandez is not pleased with the image and plans to show him, in a Showtime televised co-feature, what a "real Mexican" can do.
They will settle things in the ring on Saturday night at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois.
“He’s not a real Mexican. He wants to be a Mexican, but he’s Japanese. I’m the real Mexican here. I’m so Mexican that even the dirt under my fingernails is Mexican. Tomoki is Japanese, and he came to my country to learn from us, the Mexicans. But let’s not forget who the real Mexican is here," Hernandez said.
“He comes here saying he represents Mexico and he’s not even Mexican. I don’t have to pretend. I’m 100 percent pure Mexican blood."
