Former WBO heavyweight champion Herbie Hide is facing a possible two-year jail sentence after pleading guilty to drug charges. The 42-year-old boxer was arrested earlier this year when UK tabloid newspaper - The Sun - set him up by recording a drug deal, where Hide was attempting to supply the reporters, who were posing as buyers, with cocaine. Hide will be sentenced in Norwich Crown Court on November 29th.
After the hearing was over, a Sun spokesman said: "We are pleased that Mr Hide has admitted conspiring to supply cocaine. The Sun's investigation into Herbie Hide was public interest journalism at its best that exposed the dealing of class A drugs."
