Union City, NJ - An opponent has been named for undefeated welterweight Henry Crawford (17-0-1, 8 KOs) this Saturday night on the ‘Night of the Rising Stars’ card in Union City, NJ. Knoxville, TN native Thomas Davis (16-6-2, 7 KOs) will be the one to trade punches with the Paterson, NJ product. Davis is best known for his first round destruction of Crawford’s brother-in-law, the WBA #2 and IBF #10 ranked junior welterweight Kendall Holt. “He is a tough guy and he comes to fight. I’m ready to go and give the fans a good show with my skills I am going to display on the 9th,” said Crawford from his home in Paterson.
The card will also feature a number of young rising stars. Noriko Kariya (8-2, 2 KOs) of Jersey City, NJ will be fighting in a 6-round bantamweight contest. All fighting in 4-round contests will be Bronx, NY junior middleweight sensation and three-time NY Golden Gloves champion Ronny Vargas (4-0, 3 KOs), New Brunswick, NJ bantamweight Jorge Diaz (2-0, 2 KOs), two-time national champion and Paterson, NJ native Jeremy “Hollywood” Bryan (2-0) and making his pro debut, Union City’s own Jason Escalera.
