Promoter Mick Hennessy was at one time the sole promoter of both Carl Froch and James DeGale. Both fighters are now represented by Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport.
Late last year, DeGale became the mandatory challenger to Froch's IBF super middleweight title. The fight was not meant to be, as Froch vacated his belt. Now DeGale has been ordered to face Andre Dirrell, with Hearn attempting to make the fight for April 25th in the UK.
Hennessy recently gave his thoughts on a potential contest between Froch and DeGale.
"If Carl ever did fight James DeGale it would be a difficult one to call. I've promoted them both so know them well and I think DeGale's style is all wrong for Carl, with his movement and hand speed. He would give him fits for eight rounds. Knowing both fighters the way I do I think it would come down to mental toughness in the end and Carl would get to James late on. His power would creep in towards the end of the fight," Hennessy told reporter Nick Parkinson.
