Heavyweight contender Robert Helenius, who holds the WBA's 'gold' title at the weight, is waiting for news from the World Boxing Association with respect to a final eliminator.
Helenius shocked the division when he scored a knockout of undefeated top contender Adam Kownacki back in March at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The fight was a WBA eliminator and had the 'gold' belt at stake.
Helenius is currently in talks with Premier Boxing Champions to set down the final eliminator - against an opponent to be determined.
"I think they are going [into] that discussion now with PBC for the final eliminator fight," Helenius told Sky Sports. "I hope they are planning to do that."
Helenius has no problem with fighting other PBC heavyweights in the final eliminator - including dangerous contenders Luis Ortiz or Andy Ruiz, who are both highly ranked by the WBA.
"Of course. I think anybody. I have to win every fight to get to a world championship fight, so I'm ready for anybody," Helenius said.
The winner of the final eliminator would become the mandatory challenger to current WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO champion Anthony Joshua.
Joshua is already scheduled for a mandatory fight with Kubrat Pulev, which is going to happen before the end of the year.
Helenius has sparred in the past with both Joshua and Pulev.
"Both are very good fighters, but they have very different styles," said Helenius. "It's going to be very interesting.
"He's [Joshua] a good sparring partner, so it's also scouting for me. I would know where he stands and how he can take me on. He could be good sparring."
