Frenchman Jean Marc Mormeck has officially left his position as the mandatory challenger for EBU heavyweight champ Alexander Dimitrenko (32-1, 21KOs). Mormeck faces unified champion Wladimir Klitschko on December 10.
Now "Nordic Nightmare" Robert Helenius (16-0, 11KOs) is in the position as the mandatory challenger for Dimitrenko. EBU have set October 31 as the deadline for purse offers.
A Dimitrenko vs Helenius fight is effectively also a world title eliminator and an exciting matchup. It´s rumored, but not confirmed, that Dimitrenko already has an offer to fight Helenius in Helsinki on December 3.
