Former champion Hector Camacho (75-5-2, 37KOs) is planning another return to the ring in 2008.  Camacho, 45-years-old, dealing with a mountain of legal issues, has been inactive since July 2005.

Camacho told Spanish media outlet Endi, that he plans to fight undefeated middleweight prospect Aaron Pryor Jr. (8-0, 6KOs) in January of 2008. Something about that matchup just doesn't sound right. Pryor has never been past six-rounds (no word on how many rounds the fight would be) and Camacho would be a serious step up when taking a look at Pryor's competition, even at 45.

Then again, a 12-0 Alexander Povetkin was being matched with heavyweight spoilers like 42-4 Larry Donald. Actually, when his record was only 6-0, he was matched in a six-round contest with 20-4 Friday Ahunanya, who recently stopped undefeated heavyweight prospect Shane Cameron. And at 5-0 he fought Richard Bango (17-1, 13KOs), with the lone loss on Bango's record, at the time of the fight, came at the hands of Nikolai Valuev in six-rounds.

Anything is possible and nothing suprises me in boxing. Camacho was once great, but well past his prime and should really consider hanging up the gloves.  His best wins in the last ten-years have come against an ancient Roberto Duran and an ancient Sugar Ray Leonard. I rest my case.
