Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that someone involved with Mike Tyson had reached out to him to discuss the potential comeback of the 53-year-old fighter.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion had been discussing the idea of coming back to the ring for a few exhibition bouts to benefit charity.

In the most recent clip, Tyson declared "I'm Back" at the end of the video.

There are some who felt Hearn crossed the line when his company began to stage fights involving Youtube celebrities.

But even Hearn admits that Tyson's return to the ring would present a moral dilemma for a lot of promoters.

'They reached out to me. I had a call, a message, someone reached out to me and said "I wanna talk about Mike," Hearn told British Boxing TV.

"I would like to see it. But I kind of feel like, and I know people will say 'Well, you did the YouTube fight with KSI" but is it a bit irresponsible to let a 53-year-old legend get back in the ring? I don't know. He looks pretty dangerous, but I think it's just the fascination of could he actually go in at 53 and do some damage in the division? Maybe, maybe not.

"There's a fine line, and I've crossed it a couple of times, sort of with the integrity of the sport versus entertainment and delivering numbers. Our job is to deliver numbers for our broadcasters. But we have to try and keep it as close to the right mark as we possibly can. I don't know, stranger things have happened, we'll see."

Tyson is not the only fighter to discuss a ring return in recent weeks. Other legends like Evander Holyfield and James Toney are mulling comeback possibilities.

Hearn believes fighters like Tyson are motivated by boxing's current crop of stars - some of which are making tremendous paydays against less than stellar opposition.

"Money. Fighters and legends are seeing other fighters make money for fights they think are insignificant," Hearn said.

"Tyson isn't think about wanting to come back to add to my legacy. He's thinking how much I can get, simple. The answer is quite a lot of money."
