London, England - In front of a massive display of international media, Boxing Superstar and Unified Middleweight World Champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin, (35-0, 32 KO’s) and Undefeated British Boxing Star and Welterweight World Champion “The Special One” Kell Brook, (36-0, 25KO’s) held their Final Press Conference today leading up to their highly anticipated international showdown at The O2 on Saturday, September 10 in London, England.
Presented by Matchroom Boxing and K2 Promotions, the middleweight world title clash will be televised on Sky Sports Box Office in the United Kingdom and Live on HBO World Championship Boxing® beginning at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT in the United States.
Brook is taking on the challenge by moving up by two weight divisions and thirteen pounds to face Golovkin for his titles.
Golovkin's trainer, Abel Sanchez, sent a very stern warning to Brook - that he's going to find out very quickly what's it's like to be in there with a solid middleweight who can punch hard with both hands.
“About six and half years ago we took on the task of developing an attraction that would be worthy of all this attention,” Sanchez said. “I think were close and on Saturday night, Kell Brook will discover that it takes more than a 10-week scientific experiment to topple Gennady Golovkin.”
Eddie Hearn, who promotes Brook, wonders if Sanchez is feeling the heat as the days wind down to the big fight.
Hearn told Sky Sports News HQ: "I was quite surprised from Abel. I don't know whether the pressure's getting to them a little bit. They feel invincible as a team. They feel they can just rock up to these cities, go out, knock people out, collect the money and off they go. I don't think it's going to play out like that.
"I think they know now it's serious. I think when the fight was first made they thought it was going to be an easy knock-over job. Now they know they're in a real fight."
