Promoter Eddie Hearn is continuing to place pressure on Amir Khan (26-1, 18KOs) for a big domestic showdown with undefeated welterweight contender Kell Brook (25-0, 17KOs). Khan is planning to move up to the welterweight division in early 2012. He defends his IBF/WBA 140-pound titles against Lamont Peterson on December 10th.
"Khan is talking about moving up to welterweight next year and it would be a farce if he didn't face Kell," Hearn said in The Times. "Amir is a special talent and so is Kell, and that would be a very big fight.
Brook makes his American debut on the Carl Froch-Andre Ward undercard on December 17th at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
"I wouldn't want his first taste of boxing in America to be a world title fight, because he could just go over there and be dazzled by it all," Hearn said.
