Eddie Hearn, promoter for former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, does not see an issue with the increased pay-per-view price for the upcoming rematch with Dillian Whyte.

On Thursday, it was announced that Joshua and Whyte would collide in a rematch on August 12 at the O2 Arena in London.

British fans are not pleased with the set price of £26.99.

Some have compared the price point to last year's world title fight between Tyson Fury and Whyte in April 2022, which cost £24.95 - before a crowd of 94,000 at Wembley Stadium.

Hearn does not see a problem with the pricing and explained that other recent fights were more expensive.

"Different broadcasters, firstly. All broadcasters have a different pay-per-view price. There will be a fantastic undercard that will be announced at the press conference on Monday," Hearn told Talk Sport.

“I think the last pay-per-view, I think it was Oleksandr Usyk, I think it was £29.99. Something like that? It is always around £24, £26, pay-per-view is pay-per-view. We have been there a million times. This fight is pay-per-view on any platform. The fact that it is on DAZN, it will be available on Sky as well and obviously, Talk Sport will be carrying it. It is a massive fight. It will have a massive undercard. We could have done it in a stadium, tickets go on sale next week. Good luck and we look forward to seeing you there.”

Joshua was last seen in action back in April, when he picked up a twelve round unanimous decision over tough contender Jermaine Franklin.
