According to a report in the Home News Tribune of Central New Jersey , Larry Hazzard, who for more than two decades held the top position at the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board, was removed from the position on Wednesday.
Sources told the paper that Kim Ricketts, a senior administrator in the Division of Law and Public Safety, delivered the news to Hazzard on behalf of state Attorney General Anne Milgram around 4 p.m. in Trenton, New Jersey
A source told the paper that deputy commissioner Sylvester Cuyler is now the state's acting boxing commissioner.
In 1985, then-Gov. Tom Kean appointed Hazzard commissioner of the state Athletic Control Board. Hazzard was officially sworn in on Feb. 27, 1986.
