Adam Booth, the manager/trainer for WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, says his boxer must fight Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko. Booth admits the public will call Haye a coward if a fight doesn't happen with either Klitschko brother. Haye wants to return in October/November. The Klitschko brothers are Audley Harrison are the frontrunners to fight him.
Booth is not a fan of an all-British clash between Haye and Harrison, but at the same time he knows a lot of people felt Haye was an undeserving challenger to then champion Nikolai Valuev.
“As a boxing fan, I hate the fight, because Audley has not boxed anyone in the top 20, but I know that maybe David didn’t deserve a shot at Valuev,” Booth was quoted by Ron Lewis of The Times. “Within Britain it will be a fight that people would love to see, but [Haye] will receive a lot of criticism worldwide. He will be called a coward for not facing the Klitschkos and his credibility will be shot to pieces."
Harrison is doing a lot trash talking and sending out multiple press releases to get Haye in the ring. Booth does not see Harrison lasting more than four rounds.
“Audley has to believe he has more chance of beating David than he does Wladimir or Vitali. I don’t think he lasts four rounds with any of them, but with David he has got to have that belief that he finds his b*****ks and David’s chin at the same time.”
