Eddie Hearn, the promoter for Audley Harrison, says a possible fight with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye in November could be worth worth up to £10 million. Hearn denied recent internet reports that a deal was done. He said there was only a single meeting with Haye's manager Adam Booth.
Hearn thinks the media coverage on English soil for an all-British title clash would Haye an even bigger name in the country. He knows his fighter is a serious underdog, but he give Audley a good shot to expose Haye's chin, and packs a lot more power than Haye's last opponent, former champion John Ruiz.
“The Daily Mail said we had agreed a £1m deal with David Haye and Adam Booth - but we’ve had one meeting,” said Hearn to the South London Press. “Adam is a smart guy. They have got other options but David can make a hell of a lot of money fighting Audley, in what a lot of people feel is a relatively easy fight.
“But Audley has got one hell of a punch on him and Haye doesn’t take a punch too well. David is without doubt the favourite but Audley is a lot more dangerous than Ruiz - who was no threat and just came over for one more payday before retiring."
