David Haye claims even German fans want him to beat "imposter" Wladimir Klitschko when they clash on July 2 in the Ukrainian's adopted homeland.

The duo's world heavyweight title unification fight this summer is being held in Hamburg, where the Ukraine-born boxer has a house and has been based for much of his career.

Haye and Klitschko have bickered exhaustively for over two years about their on-off showdown with the publicity machine cranking into life again this week as tickets for the Imtech Arena showdown go on sale.

The notoriously outspoken WBA champion Haye claims he is toning it down now and in fact it was Klitschko, the IBF and WBO holder, who yesterday delivered the more tasteless soundbites at a London press conference.

Haye seems focused on securing an impressive 'away' win in July before then facing Wladimir's brother Vitali, the WBC champion, and retiring in October.

Klitschko's past five fights have been held in his adopted homeland of Germany, but Haye - who faced a similar trip to win the WBA title against Nikolay Valuev in 2009 - is unconcerned.

He told Press Association Sport: "Even people in Germany are on my side.

"Wladimir is not German, he is Ukrainian. He is an imposter in their country and his German is worse than his English, apparently - and you know what his English is like!

"He tries to get his point across and he's not funny or entertaining. I've even met Ukrainians who think he's boring, so it's not a language issue.

"His point doesn't get lost in translation, he's just a boring human being inside and outside the ring and people are supporting me."

In an entertaining press conference in London Haye reiterated his belief that the two brothers are responsible for the poor standard of the heavyweight division.

"You are going to see a unified heavyweight champion this summer," said the 30-year-old.

"I believe Wladimir Klitschko is solely responsible for killing the heavyweight division, for making sure the heavyweight championship hasn't been shown worldwide - a few channels here and there but not the big boys, they've turned off to it.

"The average boxing fan has turned off to it.

"Finally they have come back to it for this particular fight, and that's because of me - my speed, my athleticism and what I do inside the ring.

"Wladimir's personality is exactly how he fights - boring.

"That is exactly why he needs to be eradicated from the heavyweight division.

"Jab, jab, grab. Jab, jab, grab - that's all he does. On fight night his (robotic) circuits will be blown."

After more than two years of negotiations Haye claims he had to make various concessions to secure the unification fight, though Klitschko insists it was he who clinched the deal.

"I made this fight happen," said the 35-year-old.

"A 50% financial split (which Haye is getting) is the biggest cheque in the history of my opponents.

"Haye has been disrespectful to my family and I will take my revenge in the ring. It will be a long 12 rounds for him and in the 12th round I will knock him out."

Haye has criticised the standard of Klitschko's opponents but the Ukrainian vowed to make the Briton his 50th knockout victim.

"Here in London I want to present David Haye," he said. "There were 49 before but he called them bums. I would like to present number 50, David Haye!"
