Reports indicate that WBA heavyweight champion David Haye will likely defend his belt against ex-champion Ruslan Chagaev in late May. If that's the case, it would make it impossible for a Klitschko fight to happen until the end of the year.

Younger brother Wladimir Klitschko is already going to defend his IBF/WBO/IBO titles against Dereck Chisora on April 30 in Germany. Vitali Klitschko will defend his WBC title against Odlanier Solis on March 19. If Wladimir wins, he will likely face Tomasz Adamek on a September date in Poland. If Vitali wins, his manager Bernd Boente told BoxingScene.com that he's probably going to target another fight in June/July.

Based on the schedule of Haye's fight, it would make a fight with Vitali impossible for June or July. There would not be enough time for the promotion and Haye informed Team Klitschko that he's only interested in facing Wladimir.

Once Wladimir is done with Chisora, it appears less and less likely that he's going to entertain Haye for July 2, and the British boxer has already ruled Vitali out. With Adamek now in the picture for Wladimir, Haye is on the outside looking in.

If Haye sticks to his promise of retirement in October, he will end his career without facing a Klitschko.
