Manchester legend Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton is excited for May 7th’s intriguing showdown between Saul 'Canelo' and Amir Khan.

The fight takes place at the newly built T-Mobile Arena in Las Nevas, Nevada.

Speaking exclusively to Steve Lillis on Bunce’s Boxing Hour, the modern day legend revealed: “It’s a very good fight. They are two of the biggest names in boxing. It’s a little bit of a surprise with the weight, I’m really looking forward to it.”

Hatton, like many other pundits and fans alike believes Canelo may be in for a tricky night.

“Amir has the style to beat him but it’s a real big ask. He’s got to try and move and hit him hard and not stand there, use his speed and combinations,” analysed Hatton.

Canelo, who boxed Ricky’s brother Matthew back in March 2013, believes the WBC world middleweight champion has come along in recent years.

“He’s improved so much from the Mayweather fight. People wrote him off but he’s come back better than ever.”

The Hitman believes if Khan can upset the applecart, it would go down as a historical victory: “If he can pull it off it would be one of the best in British boxing history.”

Khan has been inactive since last May's twelve round decision victory over former WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri, who returns this coming Saturday night against undefeated Errol Spence.
