Ricky Hatton still has dreams of landing a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. He doesn't want to retire before landing a second crack at Floyd. In December of 2007, Mayweather stopped Hatton inside of ten rounds, handing the Manchester fighter the first loss of his career. Hatton gets a second chance to beat the pound for pound best fighter in the world on May 2, when he faces Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"How much further can you go than the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world?" said Hatton. If I was to win it I would have achieved my ultimate goal but then the only last thing I would like to do would be to have a crack at Mayweather. I keep going on about how I thought I was outdone by the ref. Let's find out if it was the ref or whether he was that good. I'd like to do that to prove to myself," Hatton told the BBC.

"If I beat Pacquiao it gives me more power to say [to Mayweather], 'You come over here - and I'll pick the ref!'. That solitary defeat sticks in my throat. I can go further than Pacquiao and if I do beat him the furthest is to put the record straight with Mayweather. I owe it to myself - I don't want to retire without giving it another crack."

Hatton is the underdog in the fight with Pacquiao, but promised his fans to redeem his past loss to Mayweather by beating Pacquiao in May.

"I've challenged the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world once and came second. Now I've got another chance and I'm not going to let you down," Hatton said.
