Reigning IBF and WBA light welterweight champion Ricky Hatton recently told the BBC that a fight with WBC light welterweight champion is a done deal for 2006.
"As far as I'm concerned a fight with Floyd Mayweather is a done deal for this year. For those that believe Mayweather is not going to happen, I just look forward to proving them wrong as I did my doubters in 2005." said Hatton
Hatton is taking full aim at Mayweather, but first he is making plans to take on a recognized opponent in his debut on American soil. Hatton's short list of opponents for his U.S. debut include Arturo Gatti, Acelino Freitas, Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo.
