A source who is close to Ricky Hatton, claims the former two-division champion began using cocaine after his brutal two round knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao in May of 2009. The same source is claiming Hatton made a promise to his fiancée, Jennifer Dooley, that he will enter a drug rehabilitation program in the next few days.
The latest bit of news is the direct result of Saturday's bombshell video that was posted by British tabloid News of The World. The video shows Hatton snorting several lines of cocaine in a bathroom. Reportedly Hatton fell in a deep depression over his inability to restore his carreer as a fighter in the aftermath of the Pacquiao loss. Hatton has been promiting dozens of shows through his promotional company, Hatton Promotions.
“He’s now vowed to get himself clean. He’ll go into a rehab clinic very soon and he has the support of Jen and the rest of his family.” - the source told British paper The Mirror. "He is very down – devastated, in fact. He had a tearful talk with Jennifer and held his hands up. This has been coming for some time and everyone around him is hoping it’s a wake-up call. Ricky is disgusted with himself. He feels he has let himself, his family, his friends and his fans down."
