Female promoter Victoria Olshana, a new name in Ukrainian prizefighting, staged her third tournament this year at the Olympic Base in Koncha-Zaspa, a sportive location near Kiev. The show under the banner of "Sparta Boxing" took its place this past Saturday.

Mariupol native Andrey Velikovskiy (5-0, 1 KO) decisioned Kiev-based Georgian Alexander Benidze (13-16-2, 6 KOs) over six rounds. Velikovskiy was considerably faster and sharper than his opponent but it was Benidze who landed harder punches, although not so often to get a win. Two judges had it for Velikovskiy: 60-54 and 59-56, while another one saw a draw: 57-57.

Karen Chukhadjan (4-1) showed superior skills and power to dominate limited Georgian Jaba Shalutashvili (18-15-1, 8 KOs) in every minute of every round. Shalutashvili showed considerable durability, lasting to the very end and losing 60-54 on all the scorecards.

Local prospect Daniyar Hanyk (11-1, 4 KOs) came back to his native land a year and a half since his bitter experience on the American soil, where he has lost to Giovanni Santillan (11-0) by a unanimous decision. Hanyk, still aged just 22, dropped no-hoper Artem Komar in the first with a body shot but failed to get his job done in time. Scores were: 40-35 (x2) and 39-36 - for Hanyk.

Other results:

Vladislav Baranov (2-1, 2 KOs) TKO 2 Mikhaylo Andriets (0-6)
