The final bout of Showtime's super middleweight tourney has been set. The Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, California, was the venue for two hard fought semi-final bouts of a tournament trying to revive the super middleweight division.

Super middleweight Tony Hanshaw (21-0, 14 KOs) walked through LaFarrell Bunting (16-2-1, 16 KOs) in three rounds after pummeling Bunting to prompt referee Raul Caiz Jr. to stop the contest.

In a battle of unbeaten fighters, Jean Paul Mendy (23-0, 12 KOs) fought his way to a one-sided ten round decision over Henry "Sugar Poo" Buchanan (14-1, 11 KOs). The scores were 99-90, 100-89 and 100-89, all for Mendy.

The final bout takes place on January 5, 2007.
