Foxwoods Resort, Mashantucket, Connecticut -  Lightweight contender Hanky Lundy (22-1-1, 11KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Dannie Williams (21-2, 17KOs) in an NABF title bout. The scores were 98-91, 97-92 and 97-92. After two minutes of the first round, there was a cut on the nose of Williams, but in the final minute Williams scored a knockdown. However, Lundy controlled most of the remaining nine rounds with his jab, counter-punching and a sharp punching from both hands.

Elvin Ayala (25-5-2, 11KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over late replacement Eric Mitchell (23-9-1, 11KOs) in the opener on ESPN's Friday Night Fights. In a bout for the WBC United States (USNBC) middleweight title, the judges saw it 79-73, 78-74 and 79-73. Mitchell replaced the injured Hector Camacho Jr. on short notice. Ayala outboxed Mitchell in a bout fought for the most part at a slow pace.
