Undefeated champion Andres “Jaguar” Gutierrez (28-0-1, 22KOs) paid close attention to the recent fight involving former two-time world champion Hugo Cazares (40-7-2, 27KOs), because the former beltholder will be his next opponent in a final eliminator mandated by the World Boxing Council.
“I respect Cazares and his career, but I really do not believe that he is a dangerous opponent to me. Certainly when we face each other - I will be the winner," stated Gutierrez.
Gutierrez, who is only 20-years-old is the WBC's current silver champion at super bantamweight.
“I have already started training for this very important bout, because it's going to be a world title eliminator," added the boxer from Queretaro.
Within the working sessions of the annual WBC Convention held in Thailand one month ago, the eliminator between Hugo Cazares and Andres Gutierrez was approved to determine the official challenger to the WBC Super bantamweight world title presently held by Leo Santa Cruz.
Canelo Promotions, the company that exclusively represents this spectacular fighter, will stage this interesting bout in February 2014 at the latest.
