Guillermo “The Jackal” Rigondeaux told BoxingScene.com - “I’m a disciplined fighter, I believe that my change in trainers has been a big help for me. Ismael Salas is Cuban like me and we have now a good road of communication.”

Salas expressed - “It’s easy to work with a fighter with the enormous talent that Rigondeaux possesses, we know about the capacity of Rico Ramos. We respect every opponent but are working to take the title and to do a big fight”

“We re-opened our training camp on Monday, and these weeks are important and we are not going to leave any space for mistakes. Rigondeaux is very close to the best condition of his career for this fight.”

“Next week, on January 15th, we will arrive to Las Vegas to close this stage [of training]. We want to arrive with sufficient time to finish our trainings there."

Today Rigondeaux sparred for five rounds with his countryman Yordenis Ugas and 5 more against Colombian super featherweight Hevinson Herrera.

“We faced bigger and strong fighters. We are confident that on January 20th Rigo will enter the ring in excellent physical condition," Salas said.

The Cuban star, Rigondeaux 8-0-0 (6 KO's) will face Rico Ramos 20-0-0 (11 KO's) in a world title fight for the WBA super bantamweight world title. This event will be broadcasting by Showtime from The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
