Southpaw Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero 29-1-1 (18 KO's) is getting ready for a tough battle with Selcuk Aydin on July 28th at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. “The Ghost” Guerrero will attempt to capture the WBC interim welterweight world title in a twelve round bout.
Guerrero defeated Katsisdis and Escobedo in his last two fights. If “The Ghost” defeats Selcuk, his managers have told us that his next target will be to secure a world title fight.
“I’m training in California and hope to defeat Aydin. He is a hard pouncher, we've seen some of his fights and I know that Aydin will come in there throwing power punches. We will be ready to defeat him and move forward,” Guerrero said.
"I believe that the key to beating Selcuk is my speed. I have work my jab early and I need set up the distance early in the fight. We won’t look for the knockout, that will come without us looking for it. But if we see a chance, we will try to knock him out quick in this fight."
"We have no problems with the weight. We will arrive in great shape and you will see that in the ring on the night of the fight. We cannot fail and I will not disappoint my fans."
