Robert Guerrero (31-2-1, 18 KOs) is finally getting back in the ring after a year layoff when he takes on Yoshihiro Kamegai on June 21 in the main event of a Showtime Championship Boxing tripleheader. However, Guerrero is already thinking about big fights going forward.
At the top of Guerrero's list? A welterweight bout with current 140-pound champ Danny Garcia.
"I’d love to get it on with Danny Garcia if the situation presents itself, but I’m only focusing on Kamegai," Guerrero told BoxingScene.com on Monday. "I’m not taking anyone lightly. Kamegai is a solid fighter with a high knockout ratio so I’m not thinking about anyone else."
However, Guerrero would also love a crack at Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter, and he plans to make a statement for those bouts against Kamegai.
"I want to fight all of those guys -- period," Guerrero exclaimed. "I’m doing my talking in the ring."
The matchups with Garcia, Thurman and Porter are plausible, too. Garcia is set for one final junior welterweight title defense before a move seven pounds north. Porter is set to fight Kell Brook in August, while Thurman has no fights lined up.
Making matters easy, Guerrero, Garcia, Porter and Thurman are all advised by Al Haymon.
It would be a surprise if Guerrero didn't face one of them in the fall.
